The Olbia Isola Bianca Port is the main passenger port of north-eastern Sardinia, with daily connections to Genoa, Livorno, Civitavecchia and Piombino operated by Moby, Tirrenia and GNV. The Isola Bianca quay is a few minutes from the centre of Olbia and is the privileged gateway for those arriving in Sardinia by ferry to explore the Costa Smeralda, Gallura and the whole north-east of the island.

Summer traffic in Olbia can be heavy, especially on July and August weekends when thousands of tourists disembark at the same time. Ferries typically dock early in the morning or late in the afternoon, creating long queues on the local roads.
