Rental Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 17 May 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental contract between KS Rent S.R.L. (the "Lessor") and the customer (the "Renter") hiring a vehicle from the fleet. By signing the rental contract or confirming the booking online, the Renter declares to have read and accepted these conditions.

1. Subject of the contract

The contract covers the temporary rental of a car, motorbike or quad owned by the Lessor, identified by model, plate and category in the booking form. Delivery takes place at the operational office in Viale Isola Bianca 38, 07026 Olbia (SS) or at the agreed location. The Renter takes the vehicle as found, verified jointly at delivery.

2. Rates and payment methods

Rates applied are those published on www.ksrentsardinia.com at the Rates page and confirmed at booking. Rates are seasonal, valid from April to October, and include compulsory third-party insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance and contract management. Excluded: fuel (delivered and to be returned at the same level), tolls, fines, optional extras (second driver, child seat, reduced excess).

The Lessor accepts the following payment methods for both balance and deposit: cash (in euros), bank transfer (also instant), reloadable prepaid cards (Postepay, Revolut, N26, Hype, Wise), debit and bancomat cards (VISA/Maestro/Mastercard), traditional credit cards, contactless NFC payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay). A traditional credit card is not required.

3. Security deposit

On vehicle delivery the Renter pays a security deposit proportionate to the vehicle category. The exact amount is communicated at booking, before confirmation. The deposit may be paid in cash, prepaid, debit or credit card. At the end of the rental, if the vehicle is returned intact, without damage or pending fines, the deposit is refunded through the same payment method within 24 hours.

4. Insurance excess and damage liability

In the event of an accident or vehicle damage, the Renter is liable up to the maximum kasko excess defined for the vehicle category. The Lessor offers an optional excess reduction at rental time, with the additional cost transparently declared. The excess does not apply in case of gross negligence, driving under influence of alcohol/drugs, or use of the vehicle for purposes forbidden by this contract.

5. Required documents

To pick up the vehicle, the Renter must present:

  • Valid driving licence held for at least 1 year (category B for cars, A1/A2 for scooters, B for quads)
  • Valid ID document (national ID card or passport)
  • Italian fiscal code (for Italian residents)
  • For non-EU citizens: international driving permit recommended

6. Minimum driver age

Minimum age for the main driver:

  • 21 years for city cars and standard vehicles (Fiat Panda, Jeep Avenger, Mercedes A-Class)
  • 25 years for sports cars, supercars and premium vehicles (Audi RS3, BMW M2)
  • 21 years for quads (with B licence held for 1+ year)

7. Use of the vehicle

The vehicle may be driven only by the Renter and the optional second driver indicated in the contract. Forbidden: use in races or competitions, towing trailers not agreed, travel outside Sardinia without written authorisation, sub-renting to third parties. The Renter must keep the vehicle with the diligence of a good father of family.

8. Fines and penalties

Any fines, administrative penalties or tolls accrued during the rental period are entirely at the Renter's expense, who undertakes to reimburse the Lessor. The Lessor communicates the Renter's details to competent authorities as required by Italian Highway Code (art. 196), charging an administrative handling fee of €25 for each notice.

9. Delivery and return

Delivery happens at the Olbia operational office (Viale Isola Bianca 38) or at the agreed location (free delivery inside Olbia municipality, variable cost for other Gallura and Costa Smeralda locations per quote). Standard hours: 10:00–13:00 and 15:00–22:30, 7 days a week, holidays included. For after-hours deliveries a written agreement is required.

Return happens at the same place and time agreed. The Renter must return the vehicle in the same condition as received, normal wear and tear excluded, with the same fuel level. Late return incurs an additional rental day charge for every 3 hours of delay.

10. Withdrawal and cancellation

The Renter may withdraw from the contract per the terms indicated on the Right of Withdrawal page. Cancellations made with more than 7 days notice incur no penalty; between 7 and 2 days incur a 30% penalty of the total; less than 48 hours incur a 100% penalty.

11. Competent court

For any dispute arising from this contract, the Court of Sassari has exclusive jurisdiction. Italian law applies.

12. Contacts and complaints

For assistance, clarifications or complaints the Renter may contact the Lessor at:
